The Project

Flexi-Hex are taking a stand on plastic and are replacing poor packaging solutions with an innovative Hex structured paper alternative. Penta were brought on board to help define and future proof the brand, starting from the ground up and ensuring the foundations of Flexi-Hex were firmly in place. This was imperative as the brand and team are growing so quickly, and so the need for the specific guidelines and various other documents and templates are essential.

Founders Sam and Will Boex recognised the impact that single-use plastic was having on their local and the world’s marine environment. Their passion for surfing and their personal experience of transporting boards around the globe inspired them to create a sustainable packaging sleeve for the board sports industry.

The Result

Flexi-Hex chose to work with us for our methodical and long stand experience in the sports sector and also in creating guidelines and developing brands. We worked closely with the team to define the brand every step of the way, and once this was in place we could have some fun and start creating a unique and clean visual ID for them.

The brand guidelines and brand book were essential both internally and externally as interest for the company grows rapidly, so having these to hand for suppliers is super useful. Aside from this we designed a new website that is a re-skin of their existing build, utilising the new fonts, colours and styles defined in the guidelines. The brand developed naturally and encompassed not only the personal style of Sam and Will (The founders) but also the tone of the company and how it communicates itself. Simple, to the point, clean and impactful.
